Jim & Cy are self-taught songwriters who were born and raised on the southside of Chicago. They were

heavily influenced by Jazz Musicians and the GREAT music from the past of other genres. Their roots are traditional with a twist of something new. It took 15 years of work before 4 songs were published. This publisher then decided to push other formats of music  and droped all Jazz related material. Other interested song publishers did not know what genre to place some of their tunes in -JAZZ? POP? A.C.?

And on one song it was "Lets modify the chords and alter the rhythm and make it a country song," that was it with publishers!

Songs were then given directly to Artists visiting Chicago at the major clubs. They got real close with

JAZZ singers Mark Murphy & Kevin Mahogany who showed interest in their songs, but having no one to guide them, they could not close a deal. Some of their DEMO songs have been played on the radio, and Artists have performed their tunes in public in Chicago and San Francisco. The Mitch Marcus Quintet recorded a CD of their music in 2005 which was never released to the public.

They are sgned to no one and own all copyrights. If you USE any of their material, you will deal

directly with them. This includes publishing agreements.
